Pecha Kucha
A fascinating combination of town meeting and creative presentation is fast becoming popular. 10 to 14 speakers from the creative arts get 6 and a half minutes to speak and are only allowed to show 20 slides for 20 seconds each. It's called Pecha Kucha and I went along to the latest edition which took place at the Metro Theatre in Mangere. It was an interesting evening involving speakers from different fields including architecture, the visual arts, film making and music. The organiser is a very tall German by the name of Luka Hinse. I talked to him and a few other people who took part.

Laura Patterson
One of the sad facts about aid work is that you're unlikely to run out of work. It can be difficult and can take you to many different places around the world. Laura Patterson knows this well, she's the Programmes Director for Childfund NZ and her work has taken her to lengthy tours in Zambia, Angola, Afghanistan, East Timor and Kenya.
