Dr John Coulter is the Head of Sound Programmes at the School of Music, National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries, University of Auckland.
His work within the Composition and Sonic Arts Area focuses on facilitating the needs of the ‘21st-century musician’ – supporting men and women who compose, perform, make use of technology and who use their individual and collective heritage as a source of musical inspiration.
Dr Coulter is a member of several international organisations that uphold this holistic approach to music making, and has presented both academic papers and creative works in several countries throughout the world including Australia, Canada, China, France, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Jasmine Chen is a PhD candidate and part-time lecturer for the Sound Design course at the School of Music.
Based on her creative practice, Jasmine's current research interests are in the domain of electroacoustic music with live performance.
Her research draws attention to methods on maintaining the presence of the electroacoustic material in live concerts involving the performer with electronic-modified acoustic instrument, multi-channel space and moving images.
