Juanita Jelleyman & Hannah Kaye | Dance performance as a site of Interaction
MP3, 15m59s, 14.6MB, first broadcast 31 August 2010
Juanita Jellyman is completing her masters research in Dance studies this year. Her research comprises a choreographic project “Seep” which she will be putting on in October this year.
Juanita is examining dance performance as a site of community between all those that artistically influence the performance (dancers, choreographers, audience members) and is exploring the way the moving body can ‘thin’ boundaries between people and how dance has the ability to provide a space in which the self might be re-realised but in relationship to the other; in community.
Juanita will also discuss the importance of creative research practice and the upcoming Creative Research: Postgraduate Study Information Evening.
Hannah’s masters-level research is in the area of Dance Education – looking at the problems and issues faced by “dance artists” in schools and how dance artists can be better supported in their work.
