In the days after the killing of George Floyd, protesters have made several demands to counter police violence and racism in the United States. Some of the demands directly relate to the history of race and violence in America and in particular an emphasis on the memory of the American Civil War. With this, has come a renewed campaign to remove racially offensive public memorials, a campaign which has also spread to other countries such as the UK and New Zealand. Doug Becker discusses the latest developments with Brent Sasley.
